The love story of Lori & Seth
Since the moment they met, the love story of Lori and Seth has been as colorful as it has been unconventional ~ two deeply creative humans whose worlds happily collided. Seth brought Lori into the wild world of clowning and comedy performance and music festivals, where she quickly learned that truly anything can be possible and even funny. Lori introduced Seth to the art world of fascinating culture-building works in fine art galleries and museums, where Seth closely inspects the seams and boldly claims that he could do that too (and sometimes he actually does). Lori often assists Seth in making his incredibly ambitious animal costumes, and Seth ardently encourages Lori as she takes bigger and braver risks in her own studio art pursuits.

In fact, Seth’s proposal to Lori was all about that ~ a pop-up fine art gallery filled with art made by their wildly creative friends celebrating their epic love story. Seth truly pulled off a miracle to make it happen (the acquiring of the location and the work it took to turn it from a nasty dog hotel into a wonderful engagement party space is its own crazy story). It was pretty much the absolute most magical proposal of all time. Lori was utterly astonished and delighted, and she said yes, a thousand times yes!

They become official
The cover for the proposal (which was the perfect cover) was Show and Tell, Sethward’s monthly backyard comedy screening event, which happens every last Friday of the month. Show and Tell is a big beautiful staple of Seth’s and Lori’s relationship ~ he makes the videos (sometimes starring Lori, as you can see in their engagement shoot video!) and hosts the show while Lori takes the event photos and invites anyone who will listen to come (Seth fondly calls her the bill broad of Show & Tell). It is a wild and wonderful community of makers that show up together every single month to share their video creations to an audience (often over a hundred people crammed into the backyard) that is ready to laugh & applaud together. So it was only fitting that the proposal happened on what would have been a Show and Tell night!
Lori and Seth also love to travel together, to festivals and TV shows around the world. Seth asked Lori to officially be his girlfriend at the southern California Lightning in a Bottle music and arts festival on May 27, 2018, where he lead her up to the top of a hill overlooking the sunset and gave her a crystal crown ~ which she wears every month on the 27th to celebrate their ‘monthaversary’. Seth has performed with the Jive Joint comedy troupe at dozens of festivals and he has created his own show that happens every year at Electric Forest in Michigan. Seth has also been invited to perform his wildly absurd animal characters on talent TV shows around the world ~ including America’s Got Talent in LA ~ and as often as possible, wherever he goes, Lori is by his side. They have been to Bucharest, Romania four times together, and last year they were invited to come to Rome, Italy for five whole weeks (with their sixth anniversary weekend in gorgeous Florence!), and then they went to Burning Man for the first time. It has been truly amazing to get to adventure so much together.

However, not everything about Seth and Lori’s relationship has been glittering adventure and constant comedy ~ some years were very difficult years, causing a deep disconnect between them that was never truly addressed until they tried therapy for the first time in 2023. Through couples therapy and then Lori seeking individual therapy, true healing was found for both of them. Their love isn’t perfect, of course ~ but Seth and Lori always find their way back to each other, actively choosing one another in the everyday. Anyone can see how much they adore each other, now more than ever.​
Now, Lori and Seth are truly ready to step into married life together ~ but why are they getting married at a peacock sanctuary? The answer is that they simply must! Peacocks have been part of Seth’s and Lori’s relationship since the very beginning ~ just three months after getting together, Seth and Lori drove two baby purple peacocks fifteen hours across state lines to give as a gift to Seth’s father, who raised peacocks for years. After Randy died, Seth made an unbelievably ambitious human peacock costume (Lori helped) and performed as Sethward the Peacock on ‘America’s Got Talent’ in 2021 in his honor ~ the only Sethward animal character to make it to the next round on any of his TV performances. Being a peacock is one of Sethward’s greatest creative achievements, with Lori by his side to cheer him on, and Randy’s memory living on.
Peewee and Penelope are all grown up now and having peachick babies of their own, and we are ready to party with the Peacock Ridge peacocks to celebrate the beautiful marriage of the one and only Lori Lusk and Seth Allison!
